Scott joined Offenhauser & Co in 1978 following his father and became a partner in 1982. He earned his BBA in Accounting from Baylor University in three years while working part time. Scott is the major accounts practice leader and construction and surety bond practice leader for Offenhauser, brokering public and private companies with focus on property developers, contractors, manufacturers, agri-cooperatives and a national retail account. He has a strong knowledge of risk management, executive risk including directors and officers liability, loss sensitive insurance and international markets. He has brokered large construction WRAP programs including professional, international bonds, shared and layered property programs among other complex risks.
Scott is active in St James Episcopal Church, the Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club and Randy Sams Shelter for the Homeless. He has been recognized nationally for past work as president of Texarkana Independent School District Board of Trustees and Foundation chair of Texas A&M University – Texarkana for the first K -16 STEM program in the US and the downward expansion of Texas A & M Texarkana. This was done with support of friend, Ross Perot (1930-2019) pictured left. Scott is most proud of the C E Palmer Award for lifetime civic achievement with fab wife Jane and the Scott Bruner Visionary Student Leadership award, created by the students at TAMU-T.
